How the classification was carried out
The classification implemented by the Municipality was prepared by the Calabria Region with Executive Decree no. 4816 of 25 March 2026, subsequently rectified with Decree no. 5441 of 2 April 2026, in application of national legislation on the quality of bathing water.
The municipal ordinances govern the entire 2026 bathing season along the coast of Reggio Calabria and indicate, stretch by stretch, where it is possible to swim and where the ban remains for reasons related to water quality.
The data refers to the stretches of beach located within the perimeter of the Municipality of Reggio Calabria and not the entire Metropolitan City, which would include, for example, Palmi, Scilla, Roccella and all the other most popular tourist locations.
