The soldiers of the Naval Operational Section of Milazzo, coordinated by the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto prosecutor, led by Giuseppe Verzerahave performed a preventive seizure decree against an entrepreneur who has Produced and marketed boats with a counterfeit brand.
The investigation activity led to ascertain that the entrepreneur, aware of the existence of already registered trademarks, would have counterfeit the same by recording a trademark with identical characteristics. Subsequently, the entrepreneur has Produced new boats by placing the counterfeit brand, presenting them with important nautical fairs and advertising them on social channels and on a dedicated website.
According to what was ascertained by the investigators, this conduct would have deceived the public about the real origin of the boats and would have also guaranteed undue commercial advantages, linked to the exploitation of the prestige of the existing brands. For this reason, the Preventive seizure of the counterfeit brand as well as the darkening of the website used to promote the sale of yachts.
The entrepreneur is investigated for counterfeiting and introduction in the State and trade of products with false signs, aggravated by the systematicity of the conduct and the preparation of organized means and activities.
