The National Authority Sordi, Sunday 2 February PV is about to celebrate, in Calabria the feast of San Francesco di Sales “patron saint of the deaf”. The event will take place in Lamezia Terme and is organized by the ENS inter -municipal representation of the Lametine territory in collaboration with the ENS Provincial Section of Catanzaro and the Ens Calabria Regional Council. The person in charge of the Ri Ens Teresa Maiolo took the opportunity of the anniversary to create a beautiful growth opportunity for the deaf Calabrians who therefore saw the support of the president of the Ens provincial section of Catanzaro Serafino Mazza, of his directors Antonio Cosco e Giuseppe Scarpino and the President of the Regional Council ENA CALABRIA CAV. It will be a day of great spirituality but also of fraternal encounter of conviviality, solidarity, hugs of the deaf who will come from all the ENS sections of Calabria, the emotions of being well together will make it unique and unrepeatable.
The inauguration of the event will take place in the name of the Christian faith with the Eucharistic celebration in the church of San Domenico in Lamezia Terme, chaired by his etc. Mons. Serafino Parisi Archbishop of Lamezia Terme, in the presence of the head of the pastoral care of people with Disability of the diocese of Rossano-Cariati Don Agostino Stasi, who, among other things, will take care of the confessions of the deaf who want to approach this sacrament.
Subsequently, the programming of the day will move to the location of the T Hotel Lamezia for the associative lunch and for the cultural insertion “Tale of the History of the ENS” presented by the rapporteur Concetta Bottari, an event accredited by the Ens headquarters. For the deaf, the memory to be transmitted to the new generations is important, this is an important and essential moment to pass on the history of our Association that has articulated over time the result of struggles, claims of rights, but mainly by human force Of all the associates linked by a solidarity and sharing pact that is still firmly firmly among the deaf.
The event is enriched by the presence of institutional, civil, religious and political authorities, and by the presence of 130 deaf people from all the Calabrian provinces confirming their friendship and closeness to the ENS.
This year the feast of San Francesco di Sales is part of the path of preparation for the Jubilee “Pellegrini di Speranza” organized by the Catholic Church in which there will be the great appointment for people with disabilities in Rome from 27 to 30 April, in which The deaf Italians will be able to live their Jubilee.
