The Fire Brigade teams of the Provincial Command of Cosenza – headquarters – and the Detachment of Rende, jointly with the specialized Speleo Alpine river (SAF) units, intervened today around 14:30 for an urgent technical rescue operation.
The intervention was necessary following the blockade of Twelve workers employed by a contract for Anas, who remained stopped on two elevable platforms during the maintenance operations of two pylons of the Friddizza viaduct, located along the A2 of the Mediterranean motorway.
The firefighters, with the use of the SAF techniques, reached the blocked workers, put them safely by means of speleus harnesses and led them in the controlled descent up to a safe area, thus successfully completing the recovery intervention without further consequences.
The operation ended safely and avoided possible risks due to the prolonged stay at altitude.
