The services of the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Villa San Giovanni in the heart of Scilla, one of the most popular tourist destinations of the Calabrian Tyrrhenian coast, continue, especially during the summer season, when the historic center and the area of the promenade come alive with residents, tourists and young people attracted by the nightlife.
On the weekend, the military of the weapon intensified their presence in the area, with particular attention to the road safety in the evening and night.
During the checks, a widespread attention emerged from citizenship towards the main rules of the highway code, in particular as regards the guide under the influence of alcoholone of the main causes of accidents, especially on weekends. However, the violations were not lacking: the carabinieri have contested several infringements, for a total amount of about 2,500 euros.
Among the high penalties, the most recurrent concerned the Failure to use the safety belts by drivers and passengers, as well as the inefficiency of vehicles safety and lighting devices, fundamental elements to guarantee visibility and protection in the event of a claim.
