A one took place on the morning of Monday 22 July Meeting between the company secretariats of CISL FP, FP CGIL, UIL FPL, Fials, Nursing Up and the management of the Cosenza Hospital for the presentation of the new Corporate act. There were also numerous representatives of the corporate RSU.
During the comparison, the unions expressed strong concern for the serious lack of healthcare personnel, now called chronic, with heavy effects on the quality of assistance and working conditions. A situation destined to worsen with the arrival of the summer months, which would require – according to trade union organizations – urgent and structural interventions, no longer postponable.
At the request of the trade union parties, the general manager of the company announced the institution, starting from next week, of a technical table to face the most pressing critical issues. However, the unions underline how a truly effective response cannot ignore a direct involvement of the Calabria Region.
“The Annunziata hospital in Cosenza is a strategic hub for the entire regional territory – reads the joint note – both for dimensions and for assistance complexity. Strong political responses are needed, no longer postponed”.
Among the issues raised during the meeting, also that relating to meal vouchers for the night shift staff, after some favorable sentences obtained by workers. The unions ask for the immediate adjustment of the company regulation and compliance with the contractual prerogatives. Criticality also on the front of the department rankings, still not published definitively, an essential element for the start of the new announcement relating to the recognition of meal vouchers in 2025.
In conclusion, the union acronyms launch a direct appeal to the president of the Region, Roberto Occhiuto:
“The time has come for the choices. Investments, hiring and respect for contracts are needed. The continuous hires of doctors, if not accompanied by a strengthening of the staff of the sector, are no longer enough to guarantee the essential levels of assistance. Healthcare personnel are close and can no longer wait. “
