With regard to the union order which ordered the closure of schools in some areas of Catanzaro for tomorrow, Thursday 4 December, as a result of the breakdown on the Sorical water supply systems, it is specified that, having heard the Regional School Office which communicated that non-deferrable competitive activities will take place at some school sites, the order itself ordered the suspension of teaching activities, to allow the regular carrying out of the aforementioned public competitions, in the following school facilities: “Grimaldi” – Via A. Turco and “Ferraris” – Via Conti di Loritello of the PTP “Grimaldi-Pacioli-Petrucci-Ferraris-Maresca” and ITTS “E. Scalfaro”.
This decision was taken as a result of an urgent meeting called for the late afternoon in the Prefecture in which Sorical, the Fire Brigade, the Regional Civil Protection and the Municipality of Catanzaro participated, represented by the councilor for Public Works, the Mayor’s Chief of Staff, the Manager of the Land Management sector and the official responsible for the municipal water service.
As regards the work on the break, Sorical announced that the technical teams are already operational and have started the necessary activities to secure the area and precisely identify the section of pipeline to be repaired. However, work was temporarily interrupted due to adverse weather conditions and will resume as soon as the safety of the operators is guaranteed.
