A strong start to the season for Mercedes in the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship. The British George Russell won the Australian Grand Prix, held at the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, ahead of his teammate, the Italian Kimi Antonelli.

The two Silver Arrows, already protagonists in Saturday’s qualifying with the front row, confirmed their superiority in the race too, achieving a clear one-two in the opening test of the season.

Behind the Mercedes, the two Ferraris closed: in third place was the Monegasque Charles Leclerc, followed by his teammate, the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

The Melbourne race represents the first event of a calendar that includes 24 Grands Prix during the 2026 season.
