14 people involved in the investigation into cocaine and heroin trafficking which was managed by a family unit, a lucrative business in which everyone participated, uncles, cousins, sisters, brothers-in-law, wives and even children, including minors, were sent to trial. The first hearing in the trial against them was scheduled for May 9th. Two other suspects, Rosario Belcamino and Alfredo Benassai, will return to the courtroom on September 16th for the plea bargaining of the sentence requested by the lawyer Nicola Tavano, while six other suspects have requested and obtained to be judged with an abbreviated procedure. The investigating judge Mario Santoemma sent to trial: Domenico Bevilacqua, known as “grandfather Domenico”; Maria Chiara Bevilacqua, alias “Chiara”; Massimo Bevilacqua, meaning “u pacciu”; Anna Vecceloque Pereloque, known as “Annetta”; Sergio Bevilacqua, known as “Gualù”; Pierpaolo Mamone, meaning “Paolo”; Damiano Veneziano; Giuseppe Mastruzzo; Teresa Mazzuoccolo; Carmelo Veciloque, known as “Melino”; Giovanni Abbruzzese, meaning “Gianni”; Antonella Bevilacqua; Cosimo Abbruzzese, known as “Cosimino” and Jessica Bevilacqua.
The investigation began on March 28, 2025 and led to the arrest of 6 people. The investigative activity began in November 2020 when the police stopped a car driven by a Roma ethnic individual found in possession of approximately 4 grams of cocaine. From the telephone records the investigators then ascertained that during the check the subject’s telephone was contacted by two people belonging to the Muntanaro and Gambero families known to the police for drug dealing in the southern suburbs.
