The “reinforcements” are arriving for the extraordinary commissioner of the Municipality of Messina, Piero Mattei. After the request formulated last March 11 by Mattei himself, the President of the Region Renato Schifani, in the interim role of councilor for local autonomies, appointed the deputy commissioner. This is Bernardo Campo, 59 years old, fixed-term manager of the Sicilian Region.
Campo – former member of the Cabinet of the Tourism Department and current Commissioner of Taormina Arte – will be the vicar of the former prefect and will support him in the management of the Municipality until the elections, in a phase in which the very top commissioners have been brought into play by the Center-right in this already fiery electoral campaign.
