The local police of Reggio Calabria is strengthened on the human resources front. From tomorrow, 7 new agents will enter into service, selected as part of the competition for 14 units with training and work contracts, referring to the year 2026.
These are suitable young people who will be able to start a professional career within the Corps, with concrete stabilization prospects. The operation will not entail costs for the organisation, thanks to a project plan drawn up by the Commander and approved by the Council and the Ministry of the Interior.
Renewal of the vehicle fleet: 26 cars and 4 motorcycles
At the same time, the instrumental equipment is also growing. The Local Police has in fact joined the Consip agreement for the renewal of the vehicle fleet.

The vehicles will replace part of the fleet currently in use, now over six years old, thus improving operational efficiency in the area.
More technology and presence on the territory
The investment is part of a broader expansion plan which has already seen the acquisition of two mobile stations, fundamental tools to make the Corps even more present and operational in the various city districts.
The new equipment will allow officers to work in greater safety and in full synergy with the Viale Aldo Moro Command.

Satisfaction was expressed by the mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà and the councilor Giuseppe Giuggi Palmenta, who underlined the strategic value of the intervention.
The Administration reiterates the role of the Local Police as a safeguard of legality and the first point of contact between institutions and citizens. In a complex context, the inclusion of new agents also represents an important employment opportunity for young people.
Over 40 hires in recent years
In recent years, thanks to the interception of ministerial funding for urban safety, around 40 young people under 32 have been hired, confirming targeted and structured planning.
