According to US President Trump, Iran has admitted that it is ‘collapsing’ and would like to reopen Hormuz.
‘We defeated them militarily’ added the tycoon during dinner with King Charles. According to CNN, Tehran will present a new peace proposal within a few days, after Washington rejected the previous one. Trump reportedly told his followers to prepare for a prolonged blockade of Iran. Tehran: ‘For us the war is not over’. Tension between Vance and Hegseth, the latter accused of having underestimated the depletion of missile stocks.
Iran: ‘For us the war did not end with the ceasefire’
“We do not consider the war over from the day the fighting stopped and there was a ceasefire.” Iranian army spokesman Mohammad Akraminia said this in a video taken by Al Jazeera. “We do not trust the USA and our enemies – he added – We have continued to update our list of targets in the same way as when the war was underway. We have continued training and used the experience of the war and we have both produced and updated our equipment. For us, the situation is still a war situation”.
WSJ: ‘Trump instructs his men, prepare for a prolonged blockade of Iran’
President Trump has instructed his aides to prepare for a prolonged blockade of Iran, US officials said, targeting the regime’s coffers in a high-stakes attempt to force it into a nuclear capitulation that Tehran has long rejected. The Wall Street Journal writes it. In recent meetings, including a Monday discussion in the Situation Room, Trump has opted to continue squeezing Iran’s economy and oil exports by blocking shipments to and from its ports. It assessed that the other options – resuming the bombing or withdrawing from the conflict – carried greater risks than maintaining the blockade, officials said.
Bessent: ‘Iran will have to reduce oil production’
“Following the maximum pressure campaign, inflation in Tehran has doubled and its currency has rapidly depreciated. Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export terminal, is about to reach its maximum storage capacity, which will force the regime to reduce oil production, resulting in lost revenue of around $170 million per day and permanent damage to Iran’s oil infrastructure.” US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent writes this on X.
“The Treasury Department, through Operation Economic Fury, targeted Iran’s international shadow banking infrastructure, access to cryptocurrencies, shadow fleet, weapons supply networks, financing of terrorist groups in the region, and independent Chinese refineries that support Iranian oil trade. These actions cut off tens of billions of dollars in revenue that would have been used to finance the terrorism”https://gazzettadelsud.it/articoli/mondo/2026/04/29/teheran-replica-a-trump-per-noi-la-guerra-non-e-finita-col- ceasefire-liran-writes-allonu-piracy-usa-the-seizure-of-our-ships-28e3188a-31cb-4b53-8339-9c73cf5a101b/.”The The Treasury Department will continue to apply maximum pressure, and any person, vessel, or entity facilitating illicit flows into Tehran risks being subject to U.S. sanctions.”
Iran writes to the UN: ‘US piracy, the seizure of our ships’
Iran sent a letter to the UN Security Council “on US piracy”. This was reported by the Iranian Tasnim agency. In a letter addressed to the Secretary General of the United Nations and the Presidency of the Security Council, Amir Saeed Iravani, Iranian ambassador to the UN, strongly protested against the seizure of Iranian ships by the United States and against piracy. The letter states, among other things: “Referring to internal agreements, which are inherently illegal, cannot under any circumstances justify such a heinous crime committed by force. Such behavior constitutes illegal coercion, interference in legitimate international trade and illegal seizure of property, while setting a dangerous precedent that seriously undermines the rule of law internationally.”
