The Ministry of Education and Merit welcomes with satisfaction the news of the inclusion of two Italian schools among the 50 finalists of the first edition of the Global Schools Prize 2026, an international recognition promoted by the Varkey Foundation and dedicated to the most innovative and impactful educational institutions on a global level. The IISS «Ettore Majorana» of Brindisi was included among the finalists in the «Transformation through AI» category, thanks to its consolidated commitment in the field of ethical artificial intelligence applied to education; the «Alessandro Volta» state scientific high school in Reggio Calabria is, however, a finalist in the «Art and Culture» category, confirming the quality of the Italian educational offer also in the humanistic and creative courses. «Being included among the best experiences selected at an international level represents a source of great pride and testifies to the quality and innovative capacity of the Italian school. The experiences of the IISS ‘Ettore Majoranà and the scientific high school ‘Alessandro Voltà demonstrate how it is possible to combine innovation, educational excellence and openness to the territories.
