The centre-left coalition has officially deposited the electoral lists for the next local elections in the Municipality of Messina. A formal step that marks the concrete start of the electoral competition.
«We are very satisfied with the presentation of these lists – declares Antonella Russo – At the City Council and in all the seven districts we are present with the lists of the Democratic Party and the M5S + Countercurrent grouping. It is a broad political proposal, representative and rooted in the territory.”
«A third civic list was also presented to the 1st, 5th and 7th Districts in support of the candidacies of our presidents. An important signal of participation and trust on the part of civil society, which further strengthens our administrative project, especially in what are considered the outskirts of Messina”.
The coalition presents itself with an articulated and widespread structure, focusing on a mix of political experience, skills and renewal. «We have built a credible team – concludes Russo – capable of interpreting the real needs of the city and proposing concrete solutions for the future of Messina».
The designated councilors
There are also the names of the designated councilors: prof. Domizia Arrigo, the tax law teacher Giuseppe Ingrao, the lawyer. Vincenzo La Cava, Salvatore Maressa, the creative director Gianfranco Moraci, the prof. Anna Maria Passaseo and the former general director of UniMe Daniela Rupo.
The comment on the list controversy
«When a political movement – which has exclusive local roots – fields 1005 candidates between the Municipality and Neighborhoods, the political climate has already been poisoned: not by criticism of compliance with the rules, but by a way of understanding elections (and politics in general) as a numerical occupation of the city» continues Antonella. «It’s the usual script: first you force your hand politically, then you paint yourself as a victim as soon as someone points it out. And with 1,005 candidates one even has the courage to talk about “strong powers”. One step forward so as not to be left behind. Democracy is not measured in kilos of lists, but in the quality of the proposals and the freedom of the vote. Wake up Messina! “, added Russo.
