Paul Magnier outsmarts Jonathan Milan in the third stage of the 2026 Giro d’Italia, the 175 km Plovdiv-Sofia. The Frenchman, in the group sprint, overtook the Italian from Lidl-Trek in the photo finish, third was Dylan Groenewegen (Unibet Rose Rockets). The pink jersey remains on the shoulders of the Uruguayan Guillermo Silva. The race was characterized, for the third consecutive day, by the initial breakaway carried out by the usual Diego Pablo Sevilla and Alessandro Tonelli (Team Polti VisitMalta), followed closely by Manuel Tarozzi (Bardiani CSF 7 Saber). The three maintained a lead of around three minutes, with the main group monitoring the pacesetters from a distance. The reunion was difficult and occurred only 400 meters from the finish line, when the sprinters’ teams began to increase the pace to launch the sprint: in the group sprint the Frenchman repeated the success obtained in the first fraction. The three days in Bulgaria therefore ends, tomorrow the first day of rest to allow the caravan to move to Italy, on Tuesday we return to the road for the fourth stage, the 138 km Catanzaro – Cosenza.
