«If I were to be elected, the first resolution would be to give honorary citizenship to judge Gratteri, because with his investigations he freed Crotone». These are the words spoken by mayoral candidate Vito Barresi who declared that he would put legality at the center of his electoral programme.
A program – as Barresi himself explained during his first public appearance in Confcommercio – two large areas: macro projects and everyday actions. As regards the “large projects”, the long-term ones, we start from an innovative idea: «We need to create new conditions for the city to experience real development. We must put the city back at the center of the institutions and reclaim its role in central Calabria and we can only do this on the model of what has already been done by the trade unions and trade associations with the creation of the so-called vast area that brings together the cities of Catanzaro, Crotone and Vibo Valentia”. In addition to this, Barresi is convinced that to talk about tourism we need to exploit the 50 kilometers of coastline that extends from the protected marine area to the wine district of Cirò.
