The State Police arrested a 52-year-old man who was the recipient of a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the Palmi investigating judge, as he was under investigation for domestic abuse and aggravated personal injury committed against his wife.

The investigations began after the woman’s request for help, who was attacked and threatened by her husband, following yet another argument on Easter Monday. At that juncture, the officers who intervened, after reassuring and calming the woman, were able to learn that her husband’s cruel conduct had been repeated for some time, without however ever having been reported or reported to the police.

The reconstruction of the man’s oppressive and mistreatment behavior carried out by the investigators of the Palmi police station, based on the declarations of the victim and of people informed about the facts, allowed the Palmi Public Prosecutor’s Office to outline a serious and converging circumstantial framework, characterized by the typical characteristics of gender violence in the domestic context, such as to request the maximum custodial precautionary measure provided for by the law from the Court of the same district.
The man is now in prison in Reggio.
