Rende receives public funding calculated on a population that does not correspond to the daily reality of the city. In addition to the official residents, precisely 36,900, there are tens of thousands of students (over 23 thousand), workers, commuters and staff of the University of Calabria. The result is a structural gap that has lasted for years and which, according to mayor Sandro Principe, compromises essential services, maintenance, transport and urban safety. Has the administration started institutional pressure on the Government and Parliament to obtain a review of the distribution criteria? In Rende the numbers don’t add up, in any case. And not from today. According to the Municipality’s internal estimates, the city experiences a real presence every day that exceeds the resident population by at least double. An anomaly that has been dragging on for years and which, over time, has become a real administrative emergency.
