In the end, the Sangiovannese triple triumphed. The trend was already clear even before half the ballots were counted. Antonio Barile – also supported in the run-off by the other candidates Giuseppe Belcastro and Luigi Candalise – finished with a significant gap (56% to 44%) compared to Marco Ambrogio, who had failed to win in the first round. Barile & co have prevailed and the Florense leader is on his way to occupying the most important seat in the municipality of San Giovanni in Fiore. Here is the figure after the ballot: Barile 5,457 votes (55.38%) and Ambrogio 4,397 (44.62%).

The new council

In the ten lists that supported Ambrogio, the line of “promoting” all the outgoing councilors and those who had important roles in the former administration worked. With Marco Ambrogio (defeated councillor-mayor) the following will occupy a place in the civic assembly: Giovanni Fragale, Giuseppe Simone Bitonti, Claudia Loria, Luigi Foglia and Francesco Fragale. All 5 with roles in the outgoing administration; new entries, however, debuting Francesco Mazzei, Serafina Lepera, Marco Gentile (mister 709 preferences, a record), and Angela Angotti.
With Antonio Barile, elected mayor, Giovanna Francesca Caruso, Enzo Sellaro, Vincenzo Tiano, Luigi Candalise, Anna Miliani join the council. All are new entries. With them there will also be Giuseppe Belcastro, mayor from 2015 to 2020. (Tuesday)
