Sorical accelerates the application of REMSI procedures for the recovery of arrears in the water service. The company that manages the integrated water service in Calabria has announced that it is fully implementing the provisions of the regulation introduced by ARERA, the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and the Environment, which regulates the methods of managing defaulting users. The activity affects hundreds of users distributed across the entire regional territory, including numerous condominiums which, due to non-payment of bills and after the exhaustion of the reminder procedures required by law, now risk the reduction of the water supply or, in permitted cases, the suspension of the service.
REMSI is not a discretionary choice, but an obligation to guarantee equity and sustainability
Sorical specifies that the application of the REMSI procedures does not represent a discretionary choice, but a regulatory obligation aimed at guaranteeing fairness among users and economic sustainability of the integrated water system, while at the same time safeguarding those who regularly fulfill their payment obligations. The company also highlights that it has activated all the communications required by law before arriving at any restrictive measures, offering interested users the possibility of regularizing their debt position and, where applicable, accessing forms of installment payments. Hence the new appeal addressed to interested citizens: promptly check their administrative situation and contact the company assistance desks or channels to identify possible solutions and avoid the application of the measures envisaged by the REMSI. “The objective – underlines Sorical – remains that of combining the right to access water with respect for the rules necessary to guarantee continuity and efficiency of the service for the entire community”.
