A sunny afternoon turned into tragedy in Nocera Terinese Marina. A dramatic road accident, which occurred along Viale Stazione, along the road leading to the A2, claimed the life of a 47-year-old local restaurateur, Francesco Vescio, who was traveling on his motorcycle. The collision, the causes of which are still being ascertained, involved a Lancia Y, driven by a pregnant young woman.
The violent impact occurred in the early afternoon on the main artery that crosses the seaside area, near the town centre. According to initial reconstructions, the motorbike and the car collided for reasons still under investigation by the authorities. The impact was so violent that it threw the motorcyclist several meters away from the point of impact. The emergency services, which arrived promptly on the spot, were unable to do anything for the centaur: the 118 health workers attempted resuscitation maneuvers for a long time, but the injuries he sustained proved fatal and his death occurred during transport to the hospital. The body was subsequently transferred to the Pugliese of Catanzaro at the disposal of the medical examiner.
The woman in the car, despite the strong shock and some bruises, was not in danger of her life. However, she was rushed to hospital for tests and to monitor the state of the pregnancy. His condition is constantly monitored.
The road section was immediately closed to traffic to allow rescue operations with severe traffic slowdowns. The Carabinieri from the local station intervened on site, carrying out the technical investigations necessary to establish the responsibilities and the exact trajectory of the vehicles. The firefighters, in turn, took steps to make the vehicles safe.
