The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will award the Lifetime Achievement Oscar to actress Glenn Close, animator Floyd Norman and director Ridley Scott. These Oscar statuettes will be presented during the Academy’s 17th Annual Governors Awards on Sunday, November 15, 2026, in the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood. Producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler will also be honored with the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award.
“The Academy Board of Governors is thrilled to present this year’s Governors Awards to five extraordinary individuals whose groundbreaking work has forever shaped the art of motion pictures,” said Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor, calling Sir Ridley Scott “a true visionary” and praising Glenn Close for bringing to life, “over the course of his extraordinary career, some of cinema’s most complex characters.”
