The Bruzia prosecutor’s office, directed by Vincenzo Capomolla, has closed the circle on the protagonists of the shooting that took place on May 15th in the center of Cosenza, near the popular neighborhood of Via Popilia.
Two people were subjected to restrictive measures: Francesco Bonanno, 57 years old, locked up in the city prison as a result of an arrest order already validated; and Luigi Abbruzzese, 26, who was served with a precautionary custody order in prison. The two suspects allegedly fought each other last May with gunshots after an argument that broke out for trivial reasons. Abbruzzese was wounded in the leg and hospitalized, the other, although also wounded, fled.
The investigation into the shooting
The provision comes as part of the investigative activity launched immediately after the serious episode that occurred in the heart of the city. During the same investigations, another person had already been arrested, also believed to be involved in the affair.
The investigators continued their investigations to precisely reconstruct the dynamics of the facts and identify all the responsibilities linked to the shooting.
The injury of the young man
On the afternoon of May 15, a 25-year-old young man was shot several times in the legs. After the wounding he went to the hospital, where the doctors found the injuries caused by the gunshots.
The investigation, coordinated by the judicial authority, made it possible to collect further elements which led to the issuing of the new precautionary measure carried out by the State Police.
Investigations continue to clarify every aspect of the matter and ascertain any further responsibilities.
