The heat spares Calabria: high temperatures but without critical issues. Violent downpour in Montepaone Lido

The great heat that is gripping much of Italy in recent days seems to spare Calabria for the moment. In some locations, at 1pm, temperatures reached up to 31 degrees – with the peak in Cosenza being 33.9 – but in the other capitals and in much of the region without reaching that level and in any case the temperature drops as the hours pass. This prevented emergency conditions from occurring from a health perspective and with a normal number of emergency room visits. However, in view of the possible increase in healthcare pressure linked to the increase in population, especially along the coastal areas, the Health Department of the Calabria Region has issued a circular in recent days addressed to health service bodies containing specific measures to be adopted aimed at improving reception in emergency emergency departments. Meanwhile, a violent downpour swept the Ionian coast of Catanzaro. A storm hit Montepaone Lido causing flooding and traffic disruption.
