In 2025 the two most followed live events in the whole of Sicily were held in Messina: the two Vasco Rossi dates on 21 and 22 June, with almost 80 thousand spectators in total, and the Ultimo concert, followed by 38,615 people. This is what emerges from the Siae 2025 Report, according to which concerts are confirmed as the most relevant sector in terms of success and attendance in the region, driven by large live events of national appeal.

Leading the ranking of island shows are two events hosted in the city. Vasco Rossi’s two evenings at the San Filippo «Franco Scoglio» stadium attracted a total of almost 80 thousand people, while Ultimo’s live show, also in Messina, recorded 38,615 attendees on a single date. Two artists of national fame who have chosen the city on the Strait, confirming the push for major musical events that Messina has been carrying out in recent years.

Theater and cinema, the most solid sectors

Theatrical prose also confirms itself as one of the most solid sectors of entertainment, with 7,082 performances which attracted 1.31 million spectators and generated 21.7 million euros in spending, equal to 12.04% of the total. Cinema also performed well, recording 29.3 million euros in takings and over 185 thousand screenings, with an incidence of 16.25%.

Discos, parks and the cost of an evening

Followed by discos, with 18.5 million euros, and amusement parks, which with 1,119 events reached 18.1 million euros and almost one million visitors. To go dancing you spend an average of 13.59 euros, a cost in line with the Italian average.

Sport: Palermo-Manchester City the most followed event

In the sporting field, the most followed event of the year in Sicily was the international friendly match Palermo-Manchester City, played on 9 August at the Renzo Barbera stadium in Palermo, which recorded 34,665 spectators.
