Messina continues to build the team of the future without waiting for the verdict on the repechage in Serie D. After the formalization of Manuel Sarao, already presented as the first shot of the new biancoscudato course, the sporting director Maurizio Pellegrino has made three other important pieces available to Alfio Torrisi: the return of Ciccio Giunta and the arrival of the Brazilian offensive winger Francisco Sartore and the left-handed Alessandro Pellegrino, operations which confirm the club’s desire to set up a competitive workforce regardless of category. Furthermore, today the Giallorossi club purchased defender Dramane Konatè, a central defender who has gained important experience in Italian football over the course of his career, making appearances in Serie B.
For Giunta, however, it is a return home. The midfielder returns to the Messina shirt after his professional experience in the 23/24 season with Giacomo Modica on the bench. Since then the class of 1999 has grown further, becoming one of the protagonists of the splendid Milazzo vintage last year.
Dynamism, intensity and quality in the middle of the pitch make it an element destined to guarantee balance and substance to the midfielder that Torrisi.
The operation that brings Francisco Sartore to the shore of the Strait is also important. Brazilian, born in 1995, he is a face well known to the biancoscudato coach, who has already had him under his employ in the experiences of Trapani and Reggina.
Having arrived in Italy since the youth sector of Genoa, Sartore has built practically his entire career among professionals, wearing the shirts of, among others, Alessandria, Lucchese, and Turris. He is not a striker with great numbers in front of goal, but he is a player capable of making the difference in the last thirty meters thanks to technique, speed and ability to create opportunities for his teammates. Characteristics that make him complementary to a center forward like Sarao, with whom he started last season in Gela.
Pellegrino, on the other hand, is a left-footed winger from 2005, who came through the youth sector of Inter and the Primavera 3 of Renate. Last season he made 26 appearances and 4 goals in the fourth series with Pistoiese.
With the first four hits, Messina already takes on an important appearance, as a team to beat if fate were to lead the biancoscudati into the Eccellenza championship.
But the market continues to be hot: the closest target is Ignacio Varela, an expert Argentine striker born in 1990 who has scored 13 goals in Serie D with CastrumFavara. The parties are now in the details and the feeling is that the white smoke may arrive shortly. The trail leading to Romanian midfielder Andrei Tanasa also remains very hot, two other profiles identified by Pellegrino to complete a squad that will have to be ready when the verdict on the category arrives.
The wait remains focused on the repechage in Serie D, but Messina continues to move like a club that wants to be ready for any scenario, immediately building a strong team, without wasting any more time.
