An overwhelming success and a night of great opera that rightfully enters the history of the summer season. The monumental production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco conquered the Greek Theater of Tindari, registering a sold-out crowd to remember. An enraptured audience accompanied Verdi’s imposing drama, crowning with ovations and endless applause a staging of rare majesty, capable of blending the scenic power of the Babylonian tragedy with the age-old magic of the archaeological site.
A triumph made possible by the excellent synergy with the Archaeological Park of Tindari (directed by the architect Giuseppe Natoli) and by the inclusion of the work within “Il Sorriso degli Dei”, the prestigious cultural event conceived and artistically directed by Anna Ricciardi. The production saw a cast of the highest artistic level on stage combined with the visionary direction of Salvo Dolce, capable of fully enhancing the classic scenic space. The unfailing Sicilian Lyrical Choir stood out as the true protagonist and pillar of the performance, masters of offering a thrilling interpretation of the famous “Va, pensiero”, capable of extracting encores by popular acclaim.
In the wake of this extraordinary enthusiasm, the organizational machine is now preparing for its final chapter. Today, August 7, Nabucco will arrive in the iconic setting of the Ancient Theater of Taormina for the last, highly anticipated stop of this successful tour.
The Taormina date promises to be an event of historic importance not only on an artistic level, but also on the front of accessibility and social commitment. For the first time in this exhibition, the work will be simultaneously translated into LIS (Italian Sign Language). A revolutionary initiative that will break down every sensorial barrier, also allowing the deaf community to benefit from the dramaturgy, interpretative intensity and immortal poetry of masterpieces such as “Va, pensiero”.
