Guaranteed assistance, fully operational emergency rooms and work in Piedmont proceeding at a rapid pace to respect the reopening of 12 October. This is the message that comes from the summit held last September 8th at the Piedmont Presidium Health Directorate to verify the implementation of the operational plan linked to the temporary closure of the Piedmont Emergency Department, which began last August 31st.
The meeting was attended by the leaders of the IRCCS Bonino Pulejo, the Papardo Hospital, the University Hospital and the Municipality of Messina. The general director of the IRCCS Maurizio Lanza, began by thanking all the healthcare personnel involved and summarized the extraordinary effort put in place by assigning his own employees to strengthen the emergency rooms of the other two city hospitals, in order to ensure that no citizen was left without a response in the emergency. A commitment that is producing concrete results. The emergency network is holding up solidly thanks to an unprecedented synergy between the structures.
All those present shared the desire to also involve the ASP of Messina with the community hospitals, the local hospital units and the affiliated private sector, to better distribute the loads and support the citizens. The director of the ASP has already given his availability. On the works front, the message for the city is clear: the construction site of the Piedmont Emergency Department is operating at a rapid pace. The interventions are proceeding according to the established timetable and the objective of reopening on 12 October is fully confirmed, to give the people of Messina a more modern, safe and efficient emergency room. The IRCCS has already given a mandate to the Health Directorate to find the additional resources required to further strengthen Papardo and the Polyclinic in recent weeks. The results of the meeting will be shared with the General Director of the ASP of Messina and a new verification point is already set in less than seven days.
