Calabrian exports growing in 2026 but agri-food no longer “driving”.

Calabrian exports grew by 5.4% in the first half of 2026. The data was released by Istat, which illustrated the results of all the Italian regions, highlighting how Calabria stands in tenth place out of 21 (Istat also includes the autonomous province of Trento and Bolzano). Basilicata leads the ranking for the first half of 2026, recording +29.5%. However, the Calabrian result is higher than both the national average (+4.5%) and that of the South (+5.2%). In absolute value, Calabrian exports in the first half of 2026 are worth 514 million compared to 488 in the same period of 2025.
