Diamante presents its candidacy for “Luminous Destinations 2027”, the project conceived and promoted by Visit Italy to enhance the lesser-known Italy and encourage a more balanced and sustainable distribution of tourist flows. The initiative was managed by the Municipality’s Tourism Department, in agreement with the municipal tourist office-Diamante Tourism.
Every year an honorary jury made up of industry experts selects ten Italian destinations capable of generating benefits for residents, protecting local heritage and identity, innovating hospitality and building authentic, accessible and inclusive experiences. The destinations selected for 2027 will be awarded at the BIT in Milan and will enter the Luminous Atlas of Visit Italy, an independent cultural platform committed to the valorization of Italian territories.
Bartalotta: «Tourism creates value for those who live in the city»
«Diamante chose to run because these principles coincide with the vision pursued by the administration led by Mayor Ordine: to build a destination in which tourism is not separated from the life of the city, but contributes to creating services, opportunities and value for those who live there every day», explains Francesco Bartalotta, Councilor for Tourism.
«The candidacy – he continues – tells what has been achieved, the actions underway and the objectives on which we will continue to work. A path that connects culture, hospitality, environment, accessibility, events and participation, enhancing the contribution of citizens, associations, businesses and operators”.
Maritato: «A national comparison on quality and sustainability»
For Raffaele Maritato, head of the municipal tourist office – Diamante Tourism, “this candidacy does not just represent participation in a selection, but the choice to enter into a national comparison between territories that invest in quality, sustainability and the protagonism of local communities”.

Participating in “Luminous Destinations 2027” – he concludes – means giving strength to this vision, comparing ourselves with other virtuous experiences and renewing a specific commitment: making tourism a lever of growth for the entire community».
