Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said US President Donald Trump told him he would allow Ukraine to produce advanced Patriot air defense missiles after a series of second thoughts on the issue. «During our last meeting, President Trump emphasized: ‘Yes, I have made a final decision. Ukraine will obtain licenses for the production of Patriot missiles,’” Zelensky said in a voice message sent to reporters.
The Kremlin’s reply
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Zelensky “has been saying a lot of things recently.” Peskov, quoted by the Tass agency, however underlined that Russia “is monitoring very closely which countries are providing which licenses and supplying which weapons” to Kiev, and is taking “all this carefully into account”.
