At the end of a particularly lively electoral campaign, complete with insults in the final rush, we finally vote: the word goes to the polls. Polling stations open from 7am for the supplementary elections in the seventy-one municipalities that make up the single-member constituency 05-Reggio Calabria of the XXIII District of the Chamber of Deputies.
It is necessary to elect the replacement of Francesco Cannizzaro, who resigned after the election as mayor of Reggio, from among the four candidates: Francesco Antonio Benedetto, known as Frank, supported by the center-left (Democratic Party, 5 Star Movement, Casa Riformista – Italia Viva, Psi, Centro Democratico, +Calabria in Europa, Rifondazione Comunista, Pri, Possibile, Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra, Più Uno, Riformisti – Progetto Riformista); Domenico Giannetta, presented by Futuro Nazionale; Fabio Roscioli, supported by the centre-right (Forza Italia, Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Noi Moderati and Unione di Centro); Francesco Toscano, proposed by Sovereign Popular Democracy.
