The “Vito Capialbi” National Archaeological Museum is not only a place that preserves ancient memories to be passed down to tourists, it often becomes an active cultural center hosting various kinds of meeting moments. Very touching was the presentation of the book by Fabio Bruno Pisciuneri who presented his novel “There, where everything began” published by Edizioni Beroe, and which boasts the collaboration of the Prefect Renato Cortese and the AIFVS President Giuseppa Cassaniti Mastrojeni. The story of the young road victim Marcello Filippo was the starting point for a lively debate that involved the author, the Councilor for Infrastructure and new works of Vibo Valentia Salvatore Monteleone and the publisher Renato Costa moderated by Angelica Artemisia Pedatella of the BA17 Theater Company. Councilor Monteleone focused attention on some bureaucratic difficulties related to the management of roads and which slow down and often hinder the implementation of safety works. He then also underlined the importance of being able to enhance infrastructures through meetings to be offered in schools.
The author recounted the literary and work path inspired by his cousin’s story up to reporting on the various improvement measures implemented by the Calabria Region. The event is part of the official program of the Festival del Sud organized by the Valentia ETS Foundation. «Marcello’s story – declares the publisher – deserves large audiences because it tells of a Calabria that does not give in to adversities of various kinds and fights for great goals. A meeting took place in Vibo which demonstrated that even different political visions can find connections for the safety of local communities. The topic of road safety deserves daily media attention and must involve different generations because each of us can also decide the fate of other people when we are on the road”
