In the early hours of today, 5 November 2026, the soldiers of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Rende Company executed an order applying personal precautionary measures, issued by the investigating judge at the Court of Cosenza, against five subjects for the believed existence of serious evidence regarding the crimes, in various capacities respectively hypothesized against them, of possession and dealing of narcotic substances such as marijuana, hashish and cocaine.
One of the suspects was taken from the precautionary measure in prison, 3 from the precautionary measure of house arrest and one suspect from the obligation to report to the PG,
The provision, issued at the request of the Cosenza Prosecutor’s Office, arises from the investigative activity carried out by the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Rende, the results of which made it possible to reconstruct a number of episodes of cultivation, possession and sale of narcotic substances, such as marijuana, hashish and cocaine, in the Bruzio capital and in various municipalities in the Cosenza hinterland, facts for which numerous charges have been hypothesized against the suspects respectively.
The investigative activity was divided into telephone, electronic and environmental interception activities, through the capture of conversations, during which the suspects also used cryptic language aimed at concealing the illicit nature of the topics discussed, i.e. the typology, quantities and prices of the narcotic substances being sold, as well as GPS localization activities, judicial police findings with the acquisition of recordings of video surveillance systems, OCP services, and proceeding with the summary examination information from people informed about the facts.
The issuing of the precautionary order was preceded by the preventive interrogation of the suspects.
