Disputes over income and debts

The investigations of the Financial Police focus on the 2022-2024 financial forecast budget and on the resolution to safeguard the balance relating to 2022. According to the accusation, the documents reported false data for approximately 4.3 million euros.

Among the alleged irregularities are recorded revenues of 1.66 million euros which, according to the investigators’ reconstruction, were not adequately justified. The failure to recognize debts linked to purification plants, expropriations and legal disputes is also contested: a passive mass of 2.68 million euros which would not have been represented in the balance sheet.

Furthermore, in some resolutions adopted by the council between March and June 2022, the opinion of accounting regularity was falsely certified.

The trial will open on May 4, 2027 before the Court of Vibo Valentia. The objections will be examined during the hearing; The presumption of innocence applies to all defendants until a final sentence is reached.
