The living nativity scene of Trappitello turns 20, one of the most artistic and evocative in Sicily. The representation of the Nativity comes back to life every year thanks to the commitment of the parish community of the Sacred Heart led by Father Tonino Tricomi. He was responsible for the idea of transforming the educational farm (which is looked after by the parishioners themselves throughout the year) in the garden of the historic church of Santa Venera, into an evocative living nativity scene created in a space of approximately 700 meters animated by over 200 people including participants and volunteers. A journey through time between traditions and 40 ancient professions such as that of the cobbler (historical figure of the place personified by Carmelo Munafò, 91 years old, who has always done this profession), with structures (palmento, oil mill, mill, mallet) created by local artisans. In 2022 it recorded a record attendance with 29 thousand visitors per 10 days.
