The Court of Catanzaro has issued six special surveillance measures accepting the Police Commissioner’s proposals against people suspected of crimes of mistreatment against family members and acquaintances.
Four measures, with a duration ranging from 2 to 4 years, also provide for the application of the so-called electronic bracelet and in one case the obligation to stay in the municipality of residence. They were adopted against two residents in Lamezia Terme, a 31-year-old and a 40-year-old respectively; of a 41-year-old resident of Catanzaro and a 72-year-old resident of Cenadi. All were responsible for serious and repeated mistreatment of women with whom they had or had had romantic relationships.
The other two, of which 1 with an obligation to stay in the municipality of residence, were adopted against a 48-year-old woman resident in Marcellinara and a 72-year-old man resident in Sellia Marina. In particular, the woman was found to mistreat her daughter and her cohabiting husband with habitual psychological harassment and physical aggression; while the man was hit by the measure because he harassed and threatened his partner.
