They were four subjects reported in a state of freedom responsible for serious environmental violations and have been seized:
- An abusive landfill containing about 600 cubic meters of hazardous and non -hazardous waste, located in Timpa Grande of the Municipality of Cotronei;
- the ecological island of the Municipality of Cotronei located in Sigliati;
- a self -demolition activity operating in the municipality of Caccuri;
- several vehicles and administrative documentation attributable to the activities subject to seizure;
- electronic devices used by the subjects involved.
Specific documentation was also acquired in the offices of the Municipality of Cotronei, which will be detailly analyzed by investigators.
The imposing environmental operation was conducted by the Carabinieri Company of Petilia Policastro, coordinated by the prosecutor of Crotone led by Domenico Guarascio and in synergy with the military of Cotronei, Forestali and with the support of the Operational Rate of the Norm of the Company,. In the identification and subsequent location of the illegal landfill, it was the activity of a airflake carried out in collaboration with the military of the 8th carabinieri helicopter core of Vibo Valentia, which made it possible to acquire fundamental elements for the intervention on the ground.
