Moments of fear during the night in Catanzaro, where a violent road accident required immediate emergency intervention along provincial road 17.
The accident occurred in via Fiume Busento, at kilometer 6. For reasons still being investigated by the authorities, the driver of a hybrid Hyundai Tucson, who was traveling alone, suddenly lost control of the vehicle. The car ended its run by overturning on the road, occupying the roadway.
A team of the Fire Brigade from the Catanzaro Command promptly intervened on site, securing the vehicle (particularly delicate given that it is a hybrid propulsion model) and the surrounding area. The driver was removed from the cockpit and entrusted to the care of SUEM 118 medical personnel.
After the first stabilization maneuvers on site, the injured man was urgently transferred to the nearest hospital for the necessary investigations.
State Police officers were also present at the scene of the accident to carry out the necessary investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the incident. The stretch of via Fiume Busento affected by the accident remained closed to traffic for several hours, the time necessary to complete the rescue operations and ensure the restoration of normal safety conditions on the road surface.
