Administrative Acquaro, Pino Ferraro: “anomalous and counterproductive aggressive and hot pre-electoral climate”

An anomalous and surreal climate of “hot tension” can be felt in the few days preceding the next electoral round in Acquaro, where, after the triple and resounding rejection (District Electoral Commission, TAR and Council of State) of the “Uniamo Acquaro” list, led by the former, Giuseppe Barilaro, dynamics seem to be developing whose effects can only go against the fate of the country. This was revealed by Pino Ferraro himself, the only mayoral candidate left in the race. He begins by underlining the great correctness of his team which, after a brief consultation, gave the other party consent to access the documents of the Electoral Commission without any problem, despite the reason given (possibly using them in the appeal) was no longer useful (because it had already been presented). «This is because we are convinced of both procedural and documentary precision and perfection». Ferraro, therefore, expresses his doubts: «we are on the eve of extraordinary municipal elections due to well-known events (dissolution due to mafia infiltration, ed.), the competition for which we had imagined could be clear and calm. For the reasons we have stated and which do not depend on us – he continues – there will be no competition. Nonetheless – he adds with regret – we find ourselves faced with a round that is proving to be even more heated and aggressive, so much so as to disturb the serenity of the community, which remains dismayed by the exasperated fury that can be felt directly”. The reference is to the “not so veiled non-voting campaign”, which would result in an obstacle to reaching the quorum and, therefore, in at least a further six months of commissionership, which the country cannot afford. This means not having fully understood that there are moments in which: «it is necessary to recognize that one’s presence does not add value, on the contrary, it can become an obstacle to change, growth, or simply to the harmony of a community. When, however, it would be important to understand that the time has come to step aside, a decision that could be interpreted as a gesture of great maturity and rare wisdom.” With the intellectual calmness and elegance that distinguish him, Ferraro, as a candidate for mayor, therefore made it a point to reassure the community that: «the list in the field, the only one left, will conduct an electoral campaign in the name of dialogue, legality, transparency and, above all, respect for people. On this basis it will not take up any challenge, because what is important is to “detoxify” the environment, made unhealthy by the poisons of those who oppose change and social growth”. This is on the basis of what the citizens want, those who want the good of the country, and which is well highlighted in a significant message from an Internet user signed, and it is not the only one, which has appeared on social media in recent days, of which Ferraro reports part of it: “”In recent years this country has gone through difficult situations. The municipal administration was dissolved and replaced by a commissioner, a serious event which should push everyone to reflect on the responsibility and transparency of local politics. Today, despite this, an attempt has been made to re-presenting an already known political proposal. However, this time too problems emerge: the list has been excluded due to non-compliant documentation. In the face of facts, it would be natural to expect a moment of self-criticism, of reflection: there are still those who defend everything without asking questions, as if democracy doesn’t work by following people “regardless”. habit or out of interest: it is having the courage to change, to look at the facts and choose what is best for the future of our country. Change comes from the courage to say: “I think with my head”. Because a country only grows when citizens stop waiting and start choosing”. Choosing means being free. Free not to fear going to vote.
