Russia is developing a new satellite destined to transport a nuclear weapon that could have “devastating consequences” for the USA and the world: It is one of the alarms launched by the Intelligence Community in the first report of the new Trump administration on world threats, where China still remains the number one opponent at a military level, Cyber and Ia (sector in which he wants to exceed the US by 2030).
The greatest wait for this report, partly obscured by the Senate auditions on the embarrassing news on the Pentagon’s war plans against the Houthi, was to see if the 007 Americans would have confirmed their previous conclusions on Vladimir Putin, that is, that its goal is to demolish the Ukrainian government, undermining the USA and the West. Or if they would have adapted to the turning of Trump and his emissaries, according to which the Tsar is a future reliable commercial partner who simply wants to end a horrible war, to obtain control of parts of Ukraine who belong to him and resume regular relations with the United States.
Well, the US intelligence, while blending its judgments on Putin, reveals that the Kremlin is working on a nuclear spatial weapon that could give it a dangerous supremacy. Not only that. Russia, together with Iran, North Korea and China, tries to challenge the United States through deliberate campaigns to obtain an advantage, with the conflict in Ukraine that has provided Moscow “a large amount of lessons on how to fight against western weapons and intelligence in a large -scale war”. A conflict that, if protracted, would perpetrate for Washington the strategic risks of an involuntary escalation and the potential use of nuclear weapons.
That is, the third world war evoked by Trump. A year ago, during the Biden presidency, the then head of the Intelligence Commission of the Chamber, the Republican Mike Turner, had launched another alarm, revealing that Russia was also working on an anti-Satellite nuclear weapon, evoking scenarios from ‘Star Wars’. In short, the warning is clear: Moscow is trying to militarize the space with nuclear weapons. The only sigh of relief: Iran is currently not building the atomic.
The most fearful threat, according to 007 Americans, remains Beijing, which has the ability to hit the United States with conventional weapons, to compromise US infrastructure through IT attacks and to hit its resources in space. And aims to replace the United States in the role of first power on artificial intelligence within five years.
“The Chinese army is deploying advanced skills, including hypersonic weapons, stealth planes, advanced submarines, more powerful resources for space and computer war and a wider arsenal of nuclear weapons,” confirmed the director of the National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard to the Senate. According to the report, Beijing is also ready to increase military and economic coercion to Taiwan this year.
