After years of reports and calls to respect the rules, the Rocca Guelphonia association decided to report the umpteenth episode of vandalism to the competent authorities that took place within the Sacrario of Christ the King.
According to reports from the association, some citizens would abuse the gates of the private area of the monument to organize a celebration with a pyrotechnic games.
The episode pushed the representatives of the association to contact the carabinieri to formalize a complaint and now an investigation will be started to identify the managers and shed light on a situation that has been laughing for too long without adequate consequences.
“After several years of reports, these citizens who do not like their city have now exceeded the limit, demonstrating non -compliance with the rules and abusively climbing over to enter the private area of the Sacrario of Christ the King” write the representatives of the association.
“This time we denounced the incident by the carabinieri and an investigation will start. Those who love their city – they add – shares the message, because if we always turn on the other side, nothing will change”.
The episode brings to the center of attention the problem of degradation and the lack of vigilance on some places symbol of Messina such as the Sacrario of Christ the King who, almost every evening, is the scene of episodes of this kind.
