The team captained by Filippo Volandri beat Serbia 2-1 on the fast indoor stadium in Malaga. The doubles played by Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Sonego were decisive as they beat the Serbian doubles team made up of Novak Djokovic and Miomir Kecmanovic in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-4 after 1h35′ of play. The two teams were 1-1 after the two singles: Kecmanovic had beaten Lorenzo Musetti, while Jannik Sinner had got the better of Djokovic.

The final

The final scheduled today (4pm) will be between Italy and Australia, which got the better of Finland in its semi-final. It hadn’t happened to the Azzurri for 25 years: in that case Sweden prevailed.
