The day after of the centre-left summit is made up of recriminations in incandescent chats. Early in the morning it was the leader of the PSI, Nino Oddo, who accused the founder of Controcorrente of «wanting a unit that was only a façade». Vardera didn’t even respond in the chat, entrusting the reply to Miguel Donegani.
The 5 Stars have read in La Vardera’s moves a hostile takeover bid that aims to weaken their party to help Controcurrent grow. And they moved accordingly, while maintaining in public the low profile: not a single sentence from Di Paola on La Vardera in yesterday morning’s press conference on waste.
Although on the sidelines the leader of the 5 Stars, candidate for Palazzo d’Orleans, did not skimp on comments, striving to be diplomatic: «I am doing everything to give an alternative to Sicily, through discussion and listening. Others work differently, evidently they think it is more convenient for them. I seek coalition unity by appearing reliable and credible. This is our characteristic. But everyone brings out their own characteristics. And La Vardera will answer to the voters for these.”
