“Ask me who the Beatles were” is an invitation to remember that memory and history serve to guide change. In Messina we want to start from here: from critical thinking and the collective passion for justice and democracy”, said the Honorable Maria Flavia Timbro on the public meeting with the Honorable Pierluigi Bersani which will be held on Wednesday 15 October, at 5.30 pm, in the Stock Exchange Hall of the Chamber of Commerce of Messina. A moment of discussion on the values of the left, on the challenges of democratic participation and on the need to rediscover politics as an instrument of social justice and equality, also for the new generations.
“We will talk about roots and the future, about a policy that comes from the bottom and is nourished by participation”, continues Timbro, former national deputy and provincial deputy secretary of the Messina PD, who will introduce the meeting, in which Ivo Blandina, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Armando Hyerace, provincial secretary of the Messina PD will also take part. “The presence of Pier Luigi Bersani in Messina is a precious opportunity to return to talking about politics as a tool to reduce inequalities, promote rights and strengthen social cohesion – comments Hyerace -. In a time marked by individualism and precariousness, reaffirming the values of the left – solidarity, social justice, decent work – is a necessary act”. Nino Rizzo Nervo, director of the Gazzetta del Sud, will dialogue with Bersani.
