“It is necessary to clarify and accelerate the process of stabilization of ASU workers employed in cultural heritage”. With these words the regional deputy of Forza Italia, Alessandro De Leo, announced that he had asked for the urgent convocation of the culture commission of the Sicilian Regional Assembly to address the issue of the failure to advance the process of stabilization of socially useful workers in the sector.
The request, also sent to regional councilors for the Economy and Cultural Heritage, aims to take stock of the implementation of thearticle 10 of the stability law 2025–2027, which provides for the permanent stabilization of ASU personnel through the SAS SpA, a subsidiary of the Sicilian Region.
“These are 258 workers – De Leo recalled – who have been serving in the cultural sites of Sicily for over twenty-six years, awaiting the recognition of a right that can no longer be postponed”.
The blue parliamentarian underlines how, after the favorable opinion of the Regional Attorney’s Office of last July 9th and the following one resolution of the SAS which authorized the start of the obligations, “it is essential to receive timely updates to understand the reasons for the delay and proceed quickly to close the process by the end of the year”.
The hearing requested by De Leo will involve, in addition to the competent councilors, also the SAS leaders, i representatives of the special office for subsidiaries and trade union organizations.
“After over two decades of precarious employment, these families deserve certainty and dignity – concluded De Leo –. Regional policy must follow up on the law approved by Parliament, confirming a sense of responsibility and respect towards workers who have contributed to the functioning of our cultural sites for years”.
