An intense week full of events for the “Antonello” Higher Hospitality Institute of Messina, directed by the head teacher Daniela Pistorinowhich once again focuses on professional training and dialogue with the territory. At the center of the calendar of initiatives, the “Mixology Night”, the final event last night of the “Drink well… live better!” project, dedicated to students of the evening food and wine course.

The evening represented the final moment of a training course that combined technical skills, creativity and awareness on the issues of responsible consumption. The protagonists are the students, called to put into practice what they learned during the laboratory activities and meetings with professionals in the mixology sector.

During the event, innovative mixing techniques were presented, from spherification to smoking, through modern methods of presentation and professional service. There is also ample space for the preparation of sustainable non-alcoholic drinks, a sign of growing attention towards new consumption styles and towards a more conscious drinking culture.

The initiative was aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening the link between school and the world of work, through an educational approach based on laboratories, cooperative learning and direct comparison with sector experts. A path that allowed students to consolidate not only technical-professional skills, but also transversal skills that are increasingly in demand today in the hospitality and catering sectors.

The “Mixology Night” was also an opportunity to share with the school community and the Messina area, enhancing the commitment, professional growth and creativity of the students involved in the project.

Just one day earlier, Tuesday 20 May, the institute’s main hall hosted the reopening of the school’s cultural salon with the presentation of the book “The Great Journey of Italian Cuisine (from Codogno to New Delhi)” by the food and wine journalist Saints Caution. The meeting was attended by, among others, the chef Pasquale Calirithe teacher Iannazzo and the journalist Emilio Pintaldimoderator of the event.
