Atalanta returned to victory after two unsuccessful attempts, against Parma the Bergamo team won 4-0 with goals from Scamacca (penalty), De Roon, Raspadori (his first goal with the new shirt) and Krstovic. Seventh place in the standings, -5 behind Como, there will be a direct clash on Sunday. This week the Bergamo players will instead face Union St-Gilloise to close the Champions League group stage and still hope to qualify for the round of 16. Parma remains at 23 points, +6 from the safety zone: next day the ducals will host Juventus. No surprises on the formation as far as the Nerazzurri are concerned, Palladino deployed the heavy attack with De Ketelaere, Scamacca and Raspadori, on the pitch for the first time since the first minute. Cuesta opted for a mirror formation, with Benedyczak the only offensive reference and Pellegrino on the bench. The first real chance of the match fell to the guests, but Benedyczak’s header – from a free kick by Bernabé – was deflected into a corner by Carnesecchi.

The hosts increased the pace by taking advantage of the external lanes, in the quarter of an hour the episode that changed the inertia of the match: penalty kick awarded for a foul by Britschgi on Zalewski, from the spot Scamacca scored his sixth center in Serie A, the eighth of the season. Parma struggled to create play, Atalanta took advantage of the positive moment in the 24th minute: De Ketelaere fed De Roon, the Dutchman only had to open the ball to beat an innocent Corvi. In the second half Cuesta made three changes, in the 8th minute De Ketelaere saved Troilo’s header on the line. The Nerazzurri managed the double lead, Oristanio scared Carnesecchi with a shot from the edge of the box that ended just wide. The ducals took on more courage, in the 25th minute they had the best opportunity to reopen the score, but Carnesecchi blocked Pellegrino’s placed shot with his foot. In the 28th minute Atalanta put the match to rest, Krstovic first stole the ball from Troilo, then served Raspadori for the 3-0. In the middle of injury time the Montenegrin striker scored, able to find the winning turn following a corner kick.

NOTES: clear afternoon. Sent off: Skorupski, 11th minute. Booked: Immobile, Malinovskyi, Ravaglia. Corners: 5-2 for Genoa. Recovery: 1′; 6′.

Genoa beat Bologna 3-2 in a crazy match valid for the 22nd matchday of Serie A. The guests went ahead 2-0 thanks to Ferguson and Otoa’s own goal, but Skorupski’s expulsion in the 11th minute of the second half put Grifone back in the game, who got the result back with the newly introduced Malinovskyi and Ekuban, before turning it around with Messias’ final masterpiece. Some changes for De Rossi compared to Parma. Bijlow is in goal, while Otoa replaces the suspended Ostigard in mid-defense. Norton Cuffy and Ekhator also return from the 1st minute. Ciro Immobile is back in Italiano’s line-up at the center of the attack. Bologna immediately tried to take control of the match, but the first real opportunity only came in the 22nd minute. There is only one team on the pitch after the first 20 minutes, with the away team’s lead increasingly up in the air. The game thus broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, when Ferguson received it at the limit and unleashed a precise right-footed shot, which touched the post to Bijlow’s right before ending in the net. Things don’t change after the goal: Bologna continues to stay in the opponent’s half of the field, while Genoa seems incapable of reacting strongly. So we go to half-time with the result 0-1.
Genoa completed the comeback in the 90th minute with a jewel from Messias, coincidentally inserted by De Rossi in the second half. The Brazilian comes in from the right and sends the ball to the opposite corner with a champion left foot. 3-2. Thus ends in the bedlam of Ferraris one of the best matches since De Rossi’s arrival in Liguria. A success projects Genoa into thirteenth position, at 23; while Bologna remains stuck in eighth place, with 30 points.
