The arrangement of all the planters present in the historic center of Cosenza has been completed. An action aimed at improving urban decorum and the usability of public spaces, which is part of the broader process of regeneration and revitalization of the historic area of the city.
The historic center of Cosenza is in fact at the center of an organic rebirth strategy, supported by the interventions envisaged by the Institutional Development Contract (CIS) and by the Urban Agenda, fundamental tools for addressing the historical critical issues of the area in a structured way and promoting its lasting development.
The strategy of the CIS and Urban Agenda
Through the CIS, the municipal administration is carrying out interventions aimed at the redevelopment of the building heritage and public spaces, the improvement of accessibility and the valorisation of cultural assets, with the aim of strengthening the attractiveness of the historic center and promoting new opportunities for economic and social growth.
At the same time, the projects financed under the Urban Agenda aim to integrate physical regeneration actions with measures of social inclusion, innovation, services and sustainable development, promoting a model of a more liveable, resilient city that is attentive to the needs of residents and activities present in the historic center.
The commitment of the municipal administration
“The interventions on urban decor – declares mayor Franz Caruso – represent only part of a broader vision. Thanks to the CIS and the Urban Agenda we are implementing a profound regeneration program of the historic center, which combines material works, heritage enhancement and social policies. The arrangement of the flower boxes is an even more visible signal of this daily and constant attention towards an area that we consider strategic for the future of the city”.
The municipal administration confirms its commitment to continuing the process of regeneration of the historic centre, through coordinated and integrated interventions, capable of restoring urban quality, centrality and new development prospects.
