The Med Photo Fest, International Photography Festival, is one of the most important events dedicated to contemporary art photography which brings together different research and languages ​​in a creative exchange, which allows us to explore the evolution of photography, combining tradition, innovation , involving artists from heterogeneous cultural contexts. Every year, it proposes a central theme, addressed by various authors with different stylistic and conceptual approaches, which allows us to reflect their individual sensitivities and the same number of aesthetic and conceptual dimensions.
This year the exhibition, in its sixteenth edition, started at the Diocesan Museum of Caltagirone, and will continue until December 30th, bringing on display the great names of Italian and international photography, the photographic archive of the Med Photo Fest. Today at Palazzo Scammacca, Franca Centaro, a well-known theater photographer, and Pino Ninfa will be awarded respectively the 2024 Mediterraneum Collection Award and the 2024 Mediterraneum Award for International Fine Art Photography.
